She was pro nounced dead upon arrival at Blalock clinic, where she was taken immediately after the accident. Metal drivers licenses will be made available to South Carolina drivers at the earliest possible date if a bill now before the j House of Representatives is ap proved, Chief Highway Commis sioner Claude R. Cothran. Hassell Lucas Dies In Columbia Hospital ^ Hassell Lucas, 7T, died Friday morning at a Columbia hospital after several years of declining health. ■/ . He was a native of Lee county but made his home in Columbia for a number of years before moving to Clniton in 1951. He was a son of the late William and Emma Sanders Lucas. He was a member of the Baptist church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Essie Lucas, of near Laurens; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conduct- fed Sunday at 3:00 p. m. at Gray Funeral Home by the Rev. Har old itanley and the Rev. J. W. Spillers. Burial was in Rosemont cemetery.
