Mrs. Floyd Gill and children and Miss Brenda Zimmerman of Barnwell spent several days with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Moore. Mr. Gill joined them for the week end. Miss «Catherine Dunaway of Inward peace and happiness is still the most sought after and de sired thing in the world. Much pt our mad scramble for money and the things that money will buy is simply a misdirected effort to se cure that peace and happiness. We seem to think that the securing of these things which we so desire will bring us that real content ment for which we long. But, alas, such is not the case. Things alone never bring happiness; • Again anci again letters come to this desk from North Greenville Junior college those who are trying to find this peace, content ment and happiness. Each troubled client who comes to my study is seeking the same. This peace and happiness can never be found away from God. I’ve written this so many times in this colymn, but there are still many of my readers who have not grasped it. We cannot have peace in the heart until we have made peace with God. Theologians call this | variously'the atonement, reconciliation, the new Dr. Spaugh birth, conversion, surrender, yielding There are other names. They all mean the same thing: making peace With Gbd by humble confession of our sins and need of' Him,' accepting Christ as our Lord and Saviour, committing our lives to God's care. This is absolutely fundamental. Jesus Christ illustrated this truth by saying. “1 dm the door.” He used the familiar picture of the sheep fold which had a fence or wall around it but only one door for entrance. It matters not how great the sin, nor how guilty the sinner, if he feels in his heart at all the call to come to his Lord, he can come. Jesus said, “Him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.'-^md then illustrated it with that most most beautiful of parables, the Prodigal Son. Recently I have had several who have come to .my ; study in great spiritual need, They felt that their sins were too grea' i for God s forgiveness I told them that all sins, except the sin! ,. _.. against the Holy Spirit, will be forgiven by God when we humbly j Iand dIKl Mrs - Strickland in P»ed- come to Him confessin. He woh has committed the sin against the mom. Holy Spirit will never feel any urge to come. Peace, contentment and happiness only come when you make peace with God That brings peace within. Then we must make peace wuth our fellowman. * spent the week-end with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Duna way.
