Cochran, Pomona Products Company, Griififin, Ga., the week of April 26 is tentative date for delivering pkniento pep per plants to Laurens county farmers who have signed applica tions to grow 300 acres of pepper this year. Farmers should get their land well prepared as soon as weather permits, and be ready to.set their pepper plants when the/ Arrive by truck. , Of Garbage Dr. R. W. Carter, director, State- Federal Livestock Disease Eradi cation program, Columlbia, has no tified the County Agent’s office of the Senate Bill No. 519, an act to regulate the feeding of garbage to swine was signed by Governor Byrnes on March 24, 1954, to take effect 30 days after its approval. There is quoted sections of this act which will concern the Coun ty Agriculture Agents. Section two (a) No person shall feed gar bage to swine or collect garbage from more than two Camilles or places without first securing a permit therefor from the Clemaon College Livestock Sanitary De partment or the County Agricul ture Agent, (to) Any person desir ing to obtain a permit to feed garbake to swine shall make writ ten application, therefore to the Clemson College Livestock Sani tary Department or the County j Agriculture Agent, gtvtag Agriculture Agent in accordance 1 name and address of the party or with requirements promulgated under authority of the board of trustees of Clemson Agricultural College. Section Three. Any person who shall sell, give away, or otherwise dispose of garbage to any person, shall be required to notify the Clemson College Livestock Sani tary Department or the County parties who obtain the garbage. The County Agent’s office have a supply of application blanks for any person feeding garbage. Persons wishing to feed gar bage to swine are to forward com plete application to Dr. Carter, Post Office Box 1174, Columbia, S. C.
