Blalock were host and hostess at dinner for Dr. Norman G. Dunning, who was conducting a series of services here at the First Presbyterian church. Other guests included Dr. -and Mrs. W. R. Luncheon Given For Miss Toccoa Wise Honoring Miss Toccoa Wise, bride-elect of February, Mrs. Hor ace Payne and Mrs. M .A. Mac donald entertained with a lovely luncheon Thursday at the home of the former on South Adair street. Magnolia leaves were artistically arranged in an edd fashioned pitch er and camellias ana African vio lets used elsewhere. Decorations on the dining room table featured a pink herat ar rangement, centered wth a minis ture bride’s bouquet Pink stream ers adorned with wedding symbols extended across the table. Covers were laid for the twelve guests at small tables centered with camellias. Mi^S Wise was presented a cor sage erf pink carnations. Miss Ann Lee of Mullins, assisted the hostesses in entertaining. Spoone-Podoras Rites Announced Mr. and Mrs. William J. Dees of. this city announce the marriage of their daughter, Aileen Dees Spoone, to William N. Podaras, son of Mrs. B. S. Podaras and the late Mr*. Po daras of Gastonia, N. C. u I,..- The wedding took place at York on January IS, 1954. The double ring ceremony was performed by Margaret Nunn, daughter of pro bate Judge E. Gettys Nunn of York. Mrs. Ppndaras was attractively attired in a navy and white suit with matching accessories and wore a corsage of red roses. The bride’s attendants were Miss Shirley Cun ningham and Mrs. Edith Garrigan of Gastonia. Melvin Land of Gas tonia served as best man. After the wedding Mr, and Mrs. Podaras and friends were invited to the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Howard for cake and coffee. Later the couple left for a wedding trip through the Carolinas. They will make their home in Gastonia where both are employed at Howard Knit Products, Inc. Mrs. Podaras is secretary to the presi dent of the company and Mr. Po daras is taking a training course through the veterans administra tion. Lovely Tea Honors Mrs. Fred S. Pitts Honoring Mrs. Fred S. Pitts, Ixer son’s bride, Mrs. W. Roy Pitts en tertained with a lovely tea on Wed nesday afternoon of the past week at the American Legion Memorial Home. Mrs. Austin Chandler and Mrs. J. B. Puryear of Aiken, greeted the guests. In the receiving line with the hostess and the honoree were the bride’s mother, Mrs. Everette Martin of Gray Court, Miss Toccoa Wise, bride-elect of February, Mrs. Harry Bauknight, Mrs. Harold Pitts of Greenville, Mrs. Carey Moore of Laurens, Mrs. Richard Owens of Gray Court, the bridal attendants, also Mrs. E. K. Garrison and Mrs. Henry Kohler of Greenville. The home was beautifully dec orated for the occasion in the tra ditional green and white bridal mo tif.
