Kelly Waits, along *vith members of the bridal party and immediate family, were enter tained Friday afternoon with^ a buffet dinner preceding the wed ding rehearsal. Mrs. J. B. .Hart, Mrs. Walter Waits, Mrs, Pat Bow ers and Mrs. M. J. McFadden were hostesses at the home of‘the former on -the Columbia highway. In the living room lovely ar rangements of pink snapdragons were used in a decorative manner. The refreshment' table, ..overlaid with a linen cutwork cloth, was attractively decorated with white gladioli, mums, snapdragons- and tall lighted tapers in silver hold- ers. Large silver trays holding baked turkey and cranberry salad j molded in hells and hearts were; used on either end cf the table. The dessert was ice cream molded in slippers and wedding bells with in-j dividual cakes. Smal tables were’ used throughout the party rooms. 1 chairman, Alec Crawofrd, has an nounced the program will consist of an educational film from the Extension Department of the Uni versity of South Carolina. Light refreshments will be serv ed. ' ' Cpl Waits Receives Discharge" On January 4 Cpl. W. W. Waits, Jr., received hjs discharge from the Marines. He was stationed at Quan- tico, Va., and has served four years in the Marines, 15 months of which were spent ijft overseas’ duty. At present Mrr and Mrs/ Waits are making their home with the for-! mer’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Waits, Sr., on Milton Road. ' . * ^ Class Enjoys Meeting Members of the Ladies Ever-1 Ready class held their quarterly business meeting Tuesday evening in the assembly room. The medi tation was presented by Mrs. Les- 1 ter Longshore, “Being Neighborly, using the 10th chapter of Luke foi the scripture. * The business 6f the class was dis cussed and needed plans made to carry on the class work. The group enjoyed a social hour and a buffet supper with coffee. Mr. Barbee Receives Recognition The Park Motor Co., of Madi son, Ga., received notification from Frigidaire, a division of General Motors Corporation, that they have been awarded the coveted “Award of Merit” service plaque. This award is given in special recogni tion: to only Frigidaire dealers who can meet the most exacting service standards, including trained service men, finest equipment, complete parts stock, and a helpful attitude toward service customers.
