Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell and family and Al Williams attend ed a reunion of the Seay family at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Royce Smith near Ware Shoals Sunday. The occsaion was honoring Sloan Southerlin, Jr., who had returned from nearly two years on Okinawa. Mrs. Keith McGee and daughter, Lynn, of Woodruff, visited Mr. and Mrs. Orville W. McGee during the week-end. Kenneth Trammell spent the past week with his cousin, Cary Smith, near Ware Shoals. Miss Mary McGill of Winnsboro, was the week-end guest of Miss Shirley Bodie. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Alexander and children visited the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Evans, Sunday in Anderson. Rev. and Mrs. J. J. McGill of Winnsboro, were Friday guests of their daughter, Mrs. Earl Hamrick Mr. and Mrs. Mark Windsor and Mr. and Mrs. Lindy McCauley at tended a birthday dinner Sunday at Cleveland park in Spartanburg given for their son, Jack Windsor. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Vanderford and family spent the week-end with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Wright, in Buffalo. G. C. Parrish, Jr., of Aiken, spent the week-end with Mrs. Parrish and Carol. Mrs. W. T. Wigley and children have returned home after spending the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Winchester in Bry son City, N. C. Friends hope Mrs. Winchester, who has been ill, will soon be well again. Miss Linda Ann Armstrong of Laurens, spent a few days last week with Miss Betty Jean Meeks. Gibson in Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Land of Bam berg, were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Claud Willard. Homecoming Sunday Sunday, Sept. 6, the Lydia Bap tist church will have its annual homecoming. At the morning worship service the Rev. Marion Moorhead, mis sionary to Japan, on furlough, and a former pastor, will speak. Everyone is asked to bring din ner which will be served imme diately following the morning wor ship service. Tea will be furnished and also plates, cups and forks. All members, former members apd friends are invited. Goes To Ninety-Six School Friends of Miss Betty Jean Meeks will be interested to learn she left Sunday to make her home with Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Adams m Ninety-Six where she will attend school this year. Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Crawford visited Mr. and Mrs. Milford Scott in Simpsonville and Mr. and Mrs. Grady Crawford in Williamston Sunday. Teacher Honored On Friday afternoon Miss Jan Harvey, assisted by her mother, Mrs. Marvin Harvey, entertained with a party honoring her Sunday school teacher. Mrs. W. E. Ellis. Several games were played and pictures were made of the group who were members of the class. Friends are sorry to know' Clyde Revis remains a patient, at the Bla lock clinic. Mrs. Nettie Prince is a patient at Hays hospital. Mrs. Harold Blackstock has re turned home from the Greenwood hospital where she was a patient the past week. Mrs. Lois Webb is able to be out afer several days illness. Mrs. Josh Motte is ill at home. her Circle To Meet The Lydia Baptist church WMS circle No. 3 will meet Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the home of Mrs. Cecil McLendon, 84 Palmetto street, at one o’clock. Presbyterian Women To Meet The women of the church- of the Lydia Presbyerian church will meet Monday evening, Sept. H 1 , ®t the home of Mrs. Jim Bailey, 102 Locust street. Kindergarten To Open The lone Wallace kindergarten will open its doors on hfonday, September 7, for its years’ work. Parents are asked to register their childrens’ names at the kin dergarten at 9 a. m., and parents are invied to attend the opening.
