License withdrawals for reckless driving for the past month totaled 37, compared with XI for October and -32 for September, the previous high. The November figure brought the to tal in this category for the year to 205, of which 96 occurred in the three fall months. This increase ap parently reflected results of the con tinuing campaign against reckless driving ordered in mid-summer by Chief Highway Commissioner C. R. McMillan. Total withdrawals of driving priv ileges in November were 753, as against 706 in October and 606 in November of 1951. Of these, 710 were suspensions for drunken driv ing, compared with 667 in October and 569 in November of 1951. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Leighton have gone to Lowell, Mass., where they will spend the Christmas seasop with the former’s mother, Mrs. James Leighton, Sr. Miss Toccoa Wise, student at Ohio State College, Columbus, is spending the holidays with her mother; Mrs. H. M. Wise. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Campbell and children, Don and Rosa of Columbus will arrive Sun day for a visit with Mrs. Campbell’s father, R. B. Vance and other rel atives. Miss Cornelia Harris returned to day from New York where she has spent the past several weeks. Albert Lewis Boyd, (BM2-C, who is stationed at Coast Guard Base, Mayport, Fla., is visiting his mother, Mrs. J6hn Boyd near here and other relatives. Thomas C. Boyd has re turned to the Navy Training Center at Great Lakes, 111., after a visit with his mother. This was the first visit together for the brothers in four and a half years. Lewis returns to duty today. Miss Juanita Asbill, student at Queens College, Charlotte, N. C., will spend the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brunson Asbill. Mrs. Minna L. Irby, of the Thorn- well schools faculty, will leave Fri day for New York where she will spend the holidays with her daugh ter. D. Sellers of Greenville, visited her parents, Dr. and Mrs. H. L. Todd, near here during the week-end. Dr. R. M. Pool of Memphis, Tenn., spent the week-end with his sister, Ms. Robert S. Flippo, state director for North and South Carolina, accompanied Mr. Kussilbock here. Ed Broome, of Augusta, Ga., spoke on the new South Carolina safety responsibility law and told of how a similar law operates in Georgia. M. Q. Higginbotham is the local agent for State Farm Mutual.
