State Auditor J. M. Smith said he felt sure there will be a gen eral fund surplus. He added, how ever, that it is too early yet to hazard a guess as to its size. Smith pointed out that there has been a substantial increase in state income tax collections this year. It is largely on this factor that hopes of a surplus are based. . A State Tax Commission report showed that collections from all sources from last July through May totaled $124,157,337 compared with $85,205,885 in the corresponding period of the previous year. The sales tax, which did not go into effect until July 1, account ed for $39,985,548 of the total. De ducting this amount would still leave collections running almost $5 million ahead of last year. To date, the income* tax has brought $26,272,012 into the treas ury. This is $3,670,201 more than was collected from the tax at this time a year ago. DR. L. B. MARION NATUROPATH Res.
