Mansell will be stationed with the U. S. Air Force. The bride attended Stephens col lege and the University of Kansas She is a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. The bridegroom graduated from Mississippi State college and is a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. Coffee Given For New York Visitor Honoring Miss Eileen Conway of New York, her house guest, Mrs. Rufus Sadler was hostess for a cof fee on Saturday morning at her home on Maple street. A number of friends were invited to meet the visitor and later a de lightfully informal hour refresh ments were served buffet in the dining room. Snapdragons and tea roses fashioned a centerpiece for the table while elsewhere roses, Mrs. King, Jr., Hostess To Legion Auxiliary The May meeting of the Ameri can Legion Auxiliary was held on Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. W. G. King, Jr., with mem bers of Mrs. W. G. King, Sr.’s group as hostesses. Mrs. Alvin Trammell had arrang ed the Memorial Day program which included scripture reading by Mrs. W. C. Baldwin; the presen tation of a flower to Mrs. Nene D. Workman, gold star mother; the reading of a poem by Mrs. Jasper Rowland and “Poppy Day’’ by Mrs. Trammell. During a social hour the hostess es served lime punch, cookies, mints and nuts. For the occasion the home was beautifully decor ated, the floral arrangements fea turing roses and larkspur. Annual Birthday Party For Presbyterian Group The annual birthday celebration of the Women of the Church of the First Presbyterian church was held on Monday afternoon at the regular .— monthly meeting. Mrs. Harry Nettles had arranged the program on the two birthday objectives, Stillman college at Tus caloosa, Ala., and the church exten sion program. A film, taken on the’ college campus, was shown and several recordings made by the col lege choir were played. Mrs. W. R. Methodist Women Select New Officers The W’oman Society of Chris tian Service of Broad Street Metho dist church met Monday at the church with the president, Mrs. Lewis Pitts, presiding. Mrs. E. K. Garrison, Mrs. Hubert Pitts, Mrs. Gus Holingsworth, Mrs. T. J. Leake and Mrs. Dolald Rooney were dele gates to the annual meeting of the society in Greenville last week. Mrs. Garrison gave a report of the meeting. A morning circle was formed with Mrs. Wilmot Shealy as chairman. A lovely table cover was pre sented to Mrs. Lewis Pitts, retiring president, as a love gift. Mrs. Pitts thanked the group graciously for the gift and also thanked the officers and other members of the society for their cooperation dur ing the time she has served.
