It also may be the cause of serious illness. Those persistent headaches or that arthritis may re sult from a “subluxation” or a misplacement of ..the ver tebrae of the spinal column. Patients may spend years in bed and swallow hun dreds of pills without attacking the real cause of their pain, according to Dr. C. J. Hart, Chiropractor of Lau rens, S. C. He says, “Chiropractic approaches the pain- wracked body as if it were a mechanism out of order rather than a compound of chemicals out of balance.” CARE CENTERED ON SPINAL COLUMN The Chiropractor centers his care on the spinal col umn to the amazement of patients who believe that he should treat the afflicted parts, Dr. Hart said. Misalign ment of vertebrae squeezes the nerves where they leave the spine, thus interfering with the flow of energy from ^the brain. He says that when a vertebrae is out of line stomach, heart, kidney ailments and others are possible " because the organs do not receive a normal nerve supply. ( CAUSE OF DISEASE LOCATED 1 Recovers from Stomach One of the first procedures after a case history is to take X-ray pictures of the spine, and a NEUROCALO- G,RAPH reading which, gives the Chiropractor knowl edge of the vertebral block-pf nerves by recording heat in a nerve on which pressure has been placed. and Mrs. W. HART “I urge anyone who is sick and suffering ill health to consult Dr. C. J. Hart of Laurens,” says Mr. V. L. Wil burn of Joanna, S. C. ‘It's not uncommon. Any severe bump, jolt or strain may cause a vertebra to slip out of place. Xpu might even do it in sleep,” advises Dr. Hart. According to Dr. Hart, 98 per cent of chiropractic adjustments take place in the upper spine near the baeje of the neck. Nerves in this area go to the eyes, skin, 1 hair, the heart, stomach, kidneys, lungs, liver and upper limbs, he said. REPLACING VERTEBRAE A PAINLESS. PROCESS Adjustment itself is practically painless, Dr. Hart said, and is given with a sudden thrust to the vertebra out of position. He said. “Chiropractic adjustment has been known to break a child’s fever almost immediately. Some apparent spastics snap right out of their pitiful condition after years in bed.” Gall Bladder Condition Corrected Announces Engagement Mrs. Walter Eugene Sloan k of Co lumbia announces the engagement of her daughter, Miss Betty Jo Sloan to John David Fersner, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John David Fersner, Sr. of Cameron. Mitchell Honored. Joanna Baptist Church Sunday held a special service to mark the third anniversary of the Rev. James Mitchell’s coming to the church as pastor. A special service was held to honor the minister, his wife, and members who have joined the church in the past three 'years. Mrs. Nathan Brazel, Mrs. Louis Murphy, Mrs. Bertha Stroud and Lester Hair were the committee in charge. The first Sunday in February “For years I suffered from a nervous condition which was gradually getting worse. I was unable to sleep at night except under the influence of sleeping tablets. Ev ery day I suffered with awful headaches and was forced to seek relief from the pain by the use of strung drugs. I was weak, nervous and felt bad all the time. I \vas easily upset and the least little thing worried me. “Some friends of mine, who had received wonderful results under Dr. Hart’s care, advised me to consult him about my condition. Dr. Hart very quickly located the cause of my trouble, and I was restored to health. “Those awful headaches disappeared ancl I began to feel like a different* person. I began to sleep without tak ing sleeping tablets and woke up every morning feeling refreshed, after a good night’s sleep. My nervousness im proved and I have had no more serious trouble since be ing under Dr. Hart’s care." For twenty years I suffered with a gall blad der condition. During the past few years my condition grew progressively worse and my blood pressure became ( abnormal. I also had arthritis and constipation. I was never free of pain and I had to take some kind of laxative to have a bowel action. I was placed on a rigid diet and advised--to have my gall bladder re moved. My condition not improving. Instead it was getting worse each day, so I decided to consult Dr. C. J. Hart, Chiropractor of Laurens, S. C. My first consultation with him was on July 14, 1951. c Hte Spina is the -Human Switchboard controlling Health aa/ Vidor > has particular significance to Ir. ancf \ Creomulsion relieve* promptly because it goes right to the seat of the trouble to help loosen and expel genp laden phlegm and aid nature to soothe and heal raw, tender, inflamed bronchial membranes. L. Harrison, ftt. 3, Laurens, S. C. “The following week I discarded the walking cane and returned to my job. “Before consulting Dt. C. J. Hart, I was suffering with severe pains in my left hip, which radiated into my leg. I was having severe headaches and cramping spells in my legs every day. These cramping spells had been com ing on for years and causing me no end of trouble. “After receiving Chiropractic adjustments from Dr. Hart, I obtained relief from pains in my left hip, the headaches cleared up and the cramping spells finally disappeared.” After a brief explanation of Chiropractic, a Neurocalograph test was made. X-rays were taken, and I was told to return to his office the following day for a complete analysis of Dr. Hart told me he my case, at which time thought he could help me. The cause of my condition was pointed out to me near the base of the skull on the X-rays. After a few adjustments I began to feel much better. In less than sixty days my gall bladder condition has cleared up completely and my bowel movements are normal and reg ular. All the pain from my arthritis has dis appeared and my blood pressure has returned to normal. I can say truthfully that I feel bet ter than I have in yeafls. If everyone would try Chiropractic first and not make the error of trying it last, as I did, there would be much less suffering and illness today. My advice to the people of this community is to consult Dr. Hart immediately. THE CAUSE OF ILLNESS ^ People get sick because of a REASON. There simply must be a CAUSE for aches, ills and pains.
