The wedding will take place Sept. 21. | Birth Announcement Rogers Mr and Mrs. J. Z. Rogers an nounce the birth of a daughter at Joanna hospital on Sept. 2. She has been named Mary Ellen. Mrs. Rogers is the former Miss Margie Boyce of Sumter. Receives Diploma Friends of Miss Bonnie Pitts, ( daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Pitts, will be interested to know, she received her diploma from Co-| lumbia Commercial college August 30. Miss Pitts is at present em- Joyed in the testing department at banna. S thed Joanna Hospital News Billy Osborne was admitted for an appendectomy on August 30. John M. Ross is at home after spending several days at the hos pital for treatment. Carol Tinsley is a patient at the local hospital. Miss Gosnell Honored Last Thursday evening Miss Clara Gosnell, young bride-elect, was complimented with a miscel- aneous shower at Joanna club by a group of friends. Throughout the club rooms artis tic arrangements of mixed summer flowers were used. The entertain ment was led by Miss Lillie Mae Franklin. Miss Gosnell’s chair of honor was overlaid in white. She wore a pas tel plaid summer dress and was presented a corsage of white car nations by the hostesses. After an hour of fun refreshments of ice cream, cake and iced drinks were served.
