Richard Hampton has accepted a position with the Glendale Mills near Spartanburg. He will play ball with the Glendale team. Miss Vera Smith of Chester, spent the week-end with Miss Ruth Low ery. Mrs. Robert Kelly and Mr. and Mrs. John Kelly and son of Enoree, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs O. W. McGee. Mrs. Ursula McCary, Mrs. P. D. Watkins and T. D. Stone. Petty Officer Rock Weathersby and Petty Officer Small of San Fraiciaco, Calif., were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hampton. Wallace Patterson is able to be out after being ill with flu. - Fred O. Asiilin Passes Fred O. Assilin, 61, died at the Union hospital in New Bedford, Mass., on March IT. Mr. Assilin lived in this com munity for 15 years and had many friends here who regret to learn of his passing. He returned to New Bedford after retiring. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Anna H. Assilin; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Cohen, both of New Bedford, and one grandson, Ray mond DeYoung of this city. Revival si Church of God The revival is continuing through out the week with the Rev. and Mrs. Hanvey and family in charge Services begin at 7:30 p.m. Youth Convention Held There will be a district youth convention at the Laurens Church of God beginning Saturday night at 7:15 and continuing through Sun day with services beginning at 2:30. The state youth director. Rev. Brady Dennis, will be guest speaker. Sat urday night the Clinton Church of God young people will present a play at the convention. Revival at Panisooatal Church Revival services are continuing at the Pentecostal Holiness church with Rev. L. H. Elliott of Green wood, as speaker. Services begin at 7 o'clock. Rev. C. J. Sexton extends a cordial in vitation to the public to attend First Aid Course Given First Aid courses are now in progress at the community house under the direction of Karl Johnson of Lydia Mills The courses will run through next Tuesday. Melody Club Meets Tonight The monthly social meeting of the Melody club will be held to night at 7:30 at the community building. ^ Brotherhood Club To Meet Saturday Evening The Community Brotherhood club, sponsored by Bailey Memorial church will hold its regular monthly meeting next Saturday evening, April T, at the church at_7:30. Rev. James Dickert, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran church, of this city, has been secured as the guest speaker. There will also be special music rendered and at the close of the formal meeting a social informal period with refreshments will be given in the basement. Every man in the community is invited to at tend this meeting.
