? Page Two THE CLINTON CHRONICLE Thursday, April 5, 1951 Balks At Spinal Operation; Cured By Chiropractor The telephone conversation went 1 something like this—“Dr. Hart, will you please come out to see my hus band? Two days ago he strained his back lifting an oil heater. The phy sician taped his back, confined him to bed and advised heat to be ap plied, but he has shown no im- | provement. Now the doctor wants to rush him to the hospital to make x-ray pictures for the purpose of a spinal operation. The doctor says he is afraid my husband has what a famous baseball player died with." Results The tape was removed from his back and the heating pad placed on the shelf where it should have been all the time. Chiropractic treat ments were started immediately and the response was gratifying. He was able to report back on the job 36 HOURS after the first treat ment. The patient continued treat ments a few’ weeks and recovered completely. Warns Against Use of Heat for Backaches “The indiscriminate use of heat applications can often turn a simple backache into a severe case," warns Dr. C. J. Hart, Chi ropractor. “Sound reasoning proves it to be extremely harm ful. It is used merely for the sake of doing something and no logi cal reason is given for its use. When heat is used, it creates a congregation of blood and fluid in the capillaries (tiny blood ves sels) in and adjacent to the ef fected area. This increases the size of the irritating factor which increases irritation. It steps up the tempo of the inflammation. Increased inflammations mean increased tissue destruction, thus prolonging the suffering and de laying recovery,” he said. “The quickest, safest relief and complete recovery from back ache, sciatica, slipped discs, arth ritis pr neuritis can be obtained with modem Chiropractic care," advises Dr. Hart. —Adv. ^ ae«y.xxK»Kiii»n»mwi»iwwwwwi»iw»wi»nniwwwdOPW« :: • • • • it o Sm :: H :: :: :: :: :: It Costs Less to Own Than it Does to Rent Y«»ur fund*. pli»» thoa* of The CITIZENS (on moke toy a home owner otrmifht A attre hedffe nfotnat :: I inflation A •‘Mind inroatment in happine** and *ecur it* f«>r tour family.
