Friends Give Luncheon For Miss Fitts Among social courtesies extend ed Miss Fay Pitts since the an nouncement of her engagement was the surprise luncheon given at noon last Wednesday at Hotel Clinton Coffee Shoppe. Hostesses were her co-workers at the Clinton Cotton Mills office. Asters in a low crystal bowl cen tered the table where covers were laid for 10 and a bouquet .of red roses designated the brido-eloct's place. The honoree’s mother, Mrs. W. R. Pitts was a special guest. As a remembrance of the occasion M iss Pitts was presented a gift of linen. . V t\ Mrs. Workman Honors Miss PittSj A lovely dinner party was given on Thursday evening for Miss Fay Pitts, October hride-elect. by Mrs. Nene D Workman, at the R. G Murphy home. Roses, dahlias and, zinnias were prettily arranged in the reception hall and living room. Covers were laid for eight and a delightful four- course dinner was served. As a centerpiece for the table nosegays for the guests were arranged on an inverted erystaj cake plate with a corsage of roses showered with tube rosgp and rosebuds, at the top for the bride. Anderson entertained at tfieir home Friday afternoon with a watermelon slic ing for members of the city schools faculty, their wives and husbands. A delightfully informal hour during which new faculty members were introduced, was enjoyed and later iced watermelon was served. ( Little Boys Given Party Thursday afternoon Mrs. O. F. Beaty entertained for her son, George, with a pre-school party, at their home on Calhoun street. Guests included a number of his classmates of the 2nd grade at Flor-! ida street school.
