State's Cotton Crop Be Small Columbia, Dec. 9: — The second smallest state cotton crop of the past 25 years is predicted by the U. 6. Department of Agriculture. In the living room, where about forty guests as sembled, the mantel was artistically banked with greenery and red ber ries. A feature of the evening was the Lo,.^ Prayer” as a benediction, presentation of a shower of miscel laneous gifts to the honoree. Later the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Louie Thornley and Miss Josephine Neigh bors, served a party salad plate with sandwiches, cup cakes and Russian tea . Music Club -T- Meets at Church Friday evening at 8 o'clock the .an nual open meeting of the Music club was held in the First Presbyterian church parlors with a large number of members and guests in attendance. Miss Luva Macdonald, of the Thornwell orphanage faculty, pre sented a lovely program of Christ mas music. Later the guests were invited into the dining room where coffee, sand wiches and cake were served in bur- ft style from a beautifully appoint ed table, centered with an arrange ment- of holly and pine sprays. Tall white tapers burned in holders. Elsewhere, red gladioli and berries were suggestive of the holiday season. Hostesses for the occasion were: Mrs. W. D. Adair, Mrs. Thomas F. Milam, Miss Georgia Brooker, Miss Agnes Davis, Miss Maude Sumerel, Miss Mary Gaines and Miss Lois Blakely. Mrs. L. M. Wilson Hostess A. R. P. Group The December meeting of the Woman’s Missionary Society of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian church was held Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. L. M. Wilson. Colorful decorations in keeping wtih the Christmas season were used in the living room. Mrs. W. B. Tribble, gave the “White Cross” program and Miss Margaret Blakely taught the Bible study from Emmanuel. At the conclusion of the program sandwiches, cocoa, and cookies were served. Milton Moore Has Birthday Party Milton Moore celebrated hie fourth •birthday last Wednesday afternoon with a party at his home. Forty little boys and girls enjoyed a number of games outdoqrs after which they were invited into the din- The candles were lighted by Billy Armstrong, brother of the bride and Jamie Worley, brother of the groom, i who also served with Mac Armstrong, | brother of the bride, and Bobby Hitt, j cousin of the bride, as ushers. The bride’s only attendant was Miss Jean Martin of Gray' Court. She Wore a dress of aqua wool with black j accessories and a corsage of red rose i buds. The bride entered with her father, Walter D. Armstrong. She was met at the altar by the bridegroom and his bestman, Don Johnson, of Wind- rpr. For her wedding the bride wore a two piece suit of dusty rose wool with brown accessories. Her corsage * was of purple throated orchids. Immediately following the cere mony a reception was held at the home of the bride. The bride’s ta ble, overlaid with a lace cloth held the three-tiered wedding cake which was embossed in an orange blossom design and topped with a miniature bride and groom.
