Gladioli, zinnias and nasturtiums were used to decorate the card rooms. Miss Cornelia Harris Gives Bridge Party Monday evening Miss Cornelia Harris entertained with a bridge party at her home. After refreshments, several pro gressions were enjoyed. Miss Jean Harris won floating prize and Miss Lillian Dillard high score prize. The hostess, assisted by her moth- , 'er, served ice cream and cake. MisS Tommie lee Smith Bride of Francis Burgess Miss Tommie Lee Smith, a gradu ate of Furman university and a na tive of Greer, was married to Fran cis Munnerlyn Burgess, of Sumter, on Saturday at 8 o’clock at the First Baptist church in Greer. Mr. Burgess is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Warren Hamilton Burgess. He is a member of Kappa Alpha frater nity and is attending Presbyterian college here, where the couple will live until he completes his education. Mrs. Burgess has taught in the schools of Greer for the past two years. She is the daughter of Mrs. Thomas Lee Sniith and the late Mr. Smith of Greer. The marriage was solemnized on August 28 at the Lucas Avenue Bap tist church in Laurens by the Rev. Mr. Chastain. Mrs. Windsor is. the attractive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Olin C. Derrick. Hfcath Copeland and Mr. and Mrs.Carroll White Copeland were hosts on Friday eve ning at Lakeside Country club for a barbetue.
