Honoring Miss Madeline Adair, who was married to Ralph Dula on Sunday afternoon, Mrs. Ralph Hol combe and Miss Martharene Pitts entertained on Wednesday evening at dinner. In the dining room a color note of green and white was effectively carried out in the selection of flow ers, with the lace-covert d table be ing adorned with a bowl of mixed white flowers, carnations>snapdrag ons and fern. Tall white tapers burned in holders. Wreaths and garlands of evergreen suggestive of the Christmas season, adorned the living rooms. Johnson en tertained with a party on Thursday evening and invited a dozen of the honoree’s close friends. Wreaths, garlands and evergreens were suggestive of the Christmas sea son. A profusion of white cut flow ers in white snapdragons and gladi oli, and on the dining room table miniature white chrysanthemums were also effectively used. Several games of rummy were en joyed and later salad and sweet courses were served. Mrs. Irene Pitts and Mrs. Ralph Holcomb assisted in serving and en tertaining. When scores were counted Miss Martharene Pitts was winner of high score prize and Miss Jeanette Pitts low score prize. Miss Adair, was given a piece of silver in her chosen pattern. Leake of this* city, and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Leake of Union, un cle’s and aunts of the bride-elect, en tertained at the former’s home, hon oring the young couple and assem bling the wedding attendants, rela tives, and out-of-town guests. For the occasion the Leake home was ensuite and beautifully decorat ed. Sprays of pyracantha berries were arranged on the mantel and on tables in the living room. The traditional green and white color note wds used in the dining room. Adorning the table were white snapdragons and fern flanked by burning tapers in candelabra. Bowls of cut flowers and silver candelabra were also arranged on the buffet. Sandwiches, cheese biscuit, fruit cake, Russian tea and mints were served. Assisting the hostesses in enter taining and serving were Mrs. Henry M. Young and Miss Lou Belle Neigh bors. The party is fciven annually dur ing the Christmas season to honor the “Kiweens” and invited guests. At the outside door of the club house, illuminated Christmas trees and lighted garlands greeted the guests.
