Whitmire visited his brother Bunyan Whitmire, and family in Newberry Sunday. Harold Hairston, S. 2-c, of Great Lakes, 111., is spending a seven-day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs Glynn Hairston. Mrs. Frances Womack spent tht week-end with friends in Green wood. Bobby Caldwell spent the week end with her sister, Mrs. J. O. Teagut and Mrs. Teague, in Laurens. Friends of Pvt. Watt Stewart of near Laurens, spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Blackwell. Among The Sick Naomi Smith has measles. Little Roger Whitmire is improving after several days of illness. Shirley Ann and Corrine Camp bell have measles. Mrs. Leroy Davis has returned from the Chester hospital after un dergoing an operation. Birthdays Miss Mildred Prince will observe a birthday October 1. O. C. Harris is observing a birth day today. Revival Services at Lydia Baptist Church The Rev. E. C. White of Anderson, will assist the pastor, Rev. W. A Tinsley, in a series of revival services beginning Sunday evening, October 3, at 7:30 at the Lydia Baptist church. Rev. White is a well known minis ter, pastor of one of the largest churches in Anderson, with a mem bership of 1300. Services will be held twice daily at 11:00 A. M., and 7:30 P.
