McCrary. MISS FREDNA SHOCKLEY TO WED IN JUNE Guy Brown Shockley of this city, announces the engagement of his daughter, Fredna, to Robert Maurice Jones, of W’alterboro and'Chesnee. The wedding will take place on June 12th in Asheville, N. C. ^ Miss Shockley made her home in Clinton for^lr number of years until the death of her mother; She is a graduate of Chicora college and for the past few years has taught French ^in the McCormick schools. MICELLANEOUS SHOWER -- FOE RECENT THHDE Honoring Mrs: William Pitts, a re cent bride, before her marriage Miss Frances Jones, Mrs. J. L. Rents gave a I lovely miscellaneous shower on Wednesday afternoon. Contest? were enjoyed the first of which was “Love in the Kitchen.” The second was .‘^Shirtwaist Romance.” The winners of these contests graciously present ed the prizes to the bride. The tables in the dining room w'ere made beau tiful with a profusion of red rose buds and pansies. Mrs. Rehtz, as sisted by Mrs. L. A. Bunch, served delicious ice cream and pound cake. STUDY CLUB HOLDS OPEN MEETTNiJ LITTLE PATSY FOWLER HAS BIRTHDAY PARTY Little Patsy Fowler celebrated her fifth birthday Saturday afternoon with a delightful party, to which 26 of her little friends were invited. Mrsi. Fowler, assisted by her sister, Mrs. Tom, Cooper, Mrs. B. B. Ballard and Mrs. Lynn Cooper, amused the children on the lawn with games. . Afterwards, the little folk were in vited to the dining room where pink and white roses made a scene of beauty. The table, covered with a lovely Irish lace cloth, was centered with a beautiful birthday cake, gleam- ing with^ five candles. The cake was cuf and served with delicious icc cream. The color scheme of pink and white was carried out. \ The girls were presented with fans and the boys were given balls. Each little guest remembered Patsy with a gift. Mrs. W. P.
