The accident which caused It's death was alleged to be due to the flame of a water heater going out without attracting his attention, and fumes of escaping gas overcame him before he could summon assistance. The odor of the gas resulted in dis covery of the accident. Prompt modi calcal attention was given him, but he was to far gone to recover. Besides his parents he leaves one sister and three brothers, one whom is also a student at the medl cal college, Charleston. Nine i post carabineers are placed along the way of 48 miles from Trieste and passports and other documents arc examined with the closest scrutiny at each. An automobile cannot pass the post unless the man on watch has consented and raises a wooden gate similar to those at. an American rail road crossing. Seven f the “traps" are on the Italian regular command’s side of the route and two on d'Annunzio’s side.
