Charleston, S. C., July 1.—Al onzo Rogers, Israel McKnight, H. B. Stokes, Moultrie Epps, Henry Godwin, N. V. Wood and W. A. Webster wore arraigned before United States Commissioner Smith in this city to-day on the charge of murdering Frazer B. Baker, the postmaster who was lynched at Lake City last February. It will be remembered that Baker’s house was set on lire, and when he and his family tried to escape from it they were fired on by a mob. Baker and a child were killed and several members of the family were wounded. Re wards for the lynchers were of fered by the State and national governments. A short time ago J. \P. Newham turned State’s evi dence, implicating the men who were arraigned here to-day with others. Baker’s wife and Newham were on the stand to-day and both gave graphic accounts of the tragedy. Commissioner Smith sent the prisoners back to jail and the case will go up to the district court. SteckboMen’ Meeting. wiwibotob, N. C..
