I n connection with Dr. Ilderton’s bill, which appears in another col umn, we have only a little to say school board elect its own chair- to-day. There is no necessity to increase the number of commis sioners to eight. In fact we be lieve that four can work more ad- v antageously together. The provision that each ward elect its own commissioners is, we believe, altogether unwise. Each ta x-payer in the district wants to and should have a voice in choos ing commissioners. Commission ers represent the district, not wards, and in this matter one ward differs not the slightest from an other. In brief, this is the most objectionable feature in the bill, and if, to wipe it out, it be neces sary to kill the biil entire, then we hope it will be killed. acres per hooae.
