On Monday, September 13, the fall session of our city schools will begin- Superintendent Mann has been bard at work during the past week making the necessary ar rangements, and when the open ing day arrives all will be in read iness. The teachers have already been assigned to grades as follows: |st grade, Miss Jessie McKenzie; 2nd, Miss Maggie Harllee; 2rd, Miss Maggie Jones; 4th, Miss Annie Bynnm; 5th, Miss Susie Brunsdu. Above the 5th the work will be departmental. Though the grades will continue to the tenth, the teachers of the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grades will have certain spe cific branches and their classes will come from all the grades men tioned immediately above. Miss Lillian Murphy will teach Latin and French; Mies Texie Young, History and Geography; Miss Florence McKenzie, Arith metic, Civics and Ethics; Mr. T. N. Rhodes, Algebra and Physiol- ogv. A meeting of the marshals who will have charge of the paiade on Monday, Labor Day, was held at the office of chief marshal J. F. Stack ley last night, and the official program fgr the occasion was mapped out. The address of welcome will be made by His Honor Mayor W. H. Day at 9 o’clock frohi the balcony of the Central Hotel. Immediatsly after the welcom ing address the procession will be formed as follows: Head of column will he placed in Evans street in front of the city hall. Florence Silver Cornet Band. The following gentlemen have been appointed as marshals for the day and will have .entire charge of the parade: J. F. Stackley, chief marshal; Henry H. Husbands, 1st assistant; A. M. McCall, 2nd assistant; R. C. Commander, 3rd assistant; T. \V. Jones, 4th assistant; M. Capers Browne, 5th assistant; R. Lee Brunson, 6th assistant. Each of the marshals will wear a sash of green and white. Those who intend to have floats are requested to send them out by not liter than 9 o’clock. They will take their planes on Dargan street, between Evans ancICheeves, looking north. Bicyclists and firemen will as semhle on Evans street in front of the Central Hotel, looking west.
