Mr. McKinley did not go far toward the South in search of timber. In order to build factories in Florence it is necessary to bring in outside capital. How to do this is the all-important question. We have an answer, but it is expressed in general terms. With out attempting to give any specific advice, we should say that the only way for us to interest outside capi tal in Florence is to become inter ested in Florence ourselves. See ? We earnestly request our tax- paying citizens to read the county auditor’s notice. Under the pro visions of an act passed at the re cent session of the legislature, it becomes necessary to make returns of real estate situate in the city of Florence. Those returns must be made on or before March 15th, aud to-day is the (>th. For fail ure to perform this duty a penalty of fifty per cent will be added.
