A special meeting of the Golden Chain will be held in the K. of P. hall this evening at 6.30 o’clock. The members are requested to be prompt as the election of officers will take place. The Atlantic Coast Line has purchased four new express cars which they wifi put into service in a few days. Two will be put on the N. E. road, one on the W. C. & A. road and one on the Florence road. A meeting of the Legion of Honor will be held in the K. of P. hail at 7.30 o’clock this #vening. The election of officers will be held and other business of importance will be transacted. Spend a DellsUtfnl y Pleasant Kveulna at the Country Home of Mr. J. W. Branson. On Monday evening fifty or sixty- invited guests assembled at the home of Mr. J. W. Brunson about two miles from town. The occa sion was a masquerade party, and everybody knows what genuine fun the very name of such a party suggests. A thoroughly delightful evening was spent by those pres ent. A few went in beauty unadorned, but a majority of the participants were costumed. A detailed de scription of the costumes is im possible, but among the company the writer observed Mephistoph- eles, the Queen of the Night. Mr. Pickwick, Martha Washing ton, a peasant maiden, a tennis girl, a gowned student, Uncle Sam, a cavalier, little Red Riding Hood, besides others whose cos tumes, some ridiculous, some ele gant, were intended simply to dis guise.
