Please allow me space in youI valuable paper to devide with the pub lice a few, of the past happenings in and around New Zion and a few things ekpected to happen in Une near future, Farmers in this section have very generally completed planting, and have transplanted their tobacco, which is thought to be about 60 to 70 per cent of a crop in acreage. W. C.-Plowden is rapidly pushing to completion a large brick building in the city of Greeleyville, where he will when finished sell and dispose to the people of that section. the pleasure ,and comforts contained in Ford cars, J. H. DuBose has recently complet pd a four room residence in this berg wv1thich was immediately occalied and Is nov% building a six room residence which we understand will be occupied upon completion. Men sell your land or build houses so people can move to New Zion. We have the best water and the broadest place in the road from the mountain -to sea shore and a graded school unexeblled in the coun try, tdught by four teachers who stand with others at the head of the class in their profession. ' ' I New Zion crossed bats with a mixed team of -Shiloh and Olanta Saturday afternoon which put the boys up egainst a strong team, well prepared for the battle, but with H. D. Hardy in the box the slaughter began in first inning and held Shiloh scoreless to sixth inning, when they were al lowed to- score, ending on the 9th in ning with a score of 10 to 4 in favor of New Zion boys. On next Saturday afternoon our boys will be faced by the boys from our neighboring town Turbeville, when we expect-to see another good game. The commendnent exercises of The New Zion graded school will open on Friday night the 21st, continuing through and ending Monday night, when the final graduating exercises will take place, class motto labor conquerett all things. Class flowers pink carnation, class color perple and gold. On Saturday and Sunday, Ma 29th and 30th the second quarterlr meeting of the New Zion charge will be held with the New Zion Methodist church. The people on this charge doubled their pastors salary for this year, and paid about half of at first quarterly meeting in January, NOTICE The following certificate in Mann ing Development Company has been lost -or destroyed.
