Please allow me space in youI

and around New Zion and a few things
ekpected to happen in Une near future,
Farmers in this section have very
generally completed planting, and
have transplanted their tobacco, which
is thought to be about 60 to 70 per
cent of a crop in acreage.
W. C.-Plowden is rapidly pushing to
completion a large brick building in
the city of Greeleyville, where he will
when finished sell and dispose to the
people of that section. the pleasure
,and comforts contained in Ford cars,
J. H. DuBose has recently complet

Is nov% building a six room residence
which we understand will be occupied
upon completion. Men sell your land
or build houses so people can move to
New Zion. We have the best water
and the broadest place in the road
from the mountain -to sea shore and a
graded school unexeblled in the coun
try, tdught by four teachers who
stand with others at the head of the
class in their profession. ' ' I
New Zion crossed bats with a mixed
team of -Shiloh and Olanta Saturday
afternoon which put the boys up
egainst a strong team, well prepared
for the battle, but with H. D. Hardy
in the box the slaughter began in
first inning and held Shiloh scoreless
to sixth inning, when they were al
lowed to- score, ending on the 9th in
ning with a score of 10 to 4 in favor
of New Zion boys.
On next Saturday afternoon our
boys will be faced by the boys from
our neighboring town Turbeville, when
we expect-to see another good game.
The commendnent exercises of The
New Zion graded school will open on
Friday night the 21st, continuing
through and ending Monday night,
when the final graduating exercises
will take place, class motto labor
conquerett all things. Class flowers
pink carnation, class color perple and
gold. On Saturday and Sunday, Ma
29th and 30th the second quarterlr
meeting of the New Zion charge
will be held with the New Zion
Methodist church. The people on this
charge doubled their pastors salary
for this year, and paid about half of
at first quarterly meeting in January,
