PERU FOR. EFFECTS OF LA GRIPPE Mr. George E. Law, 13% North Franklin St., Brazil, Indiana, has word of cheer for sufferers from LaGrippe and its results. Liquid or Tablet Form Sold Everywhere FULL SPEED AHEAD FOR RECONSTRUCTION WORK No one can read the constantly lengthening statement of n'ew entfr prises of every variety of construc tion work of every character appear ing from week to week. in the Manu facturers Record without being tre mendously impressed by the rapidity with which the South and Southwest are turning war conditions to the most progressive activities of peace. Take, for instance, one little com munity in Florida from which this is written, and there are at the pr sent time more contracts for biiidings than the aggregate work done during the last three or four years, and every architect's omee is crowded with plans for additional work. Street paving will be put under way as soon as the details of bond issues can be carried out, far in e:cess of all street and road work cone in that community in the last five years. These are but typical illustrations of what is taking place throughout t' South and Southwet. The town that is not stirring with new life is an anomaly. - The spirit of optimism, the spirit of construction activity, is broad in the land. State Legislatures are rap idly meeting the requirements of the Government in regard to co-opartion in the enormous road-building cam paign made feasible by Federal legis lation. Towns and counties are vying with each other in street and highway work. I have only used four bottles and I do t not now have any bad effects from the Grippe as it has Just about entirely disappeared, and my general health is good. I am satisfied that Peruna is a von derful remedy, and I do most heartily endorse and recommend it for LaGrippe." schools are eager now to get their work under contract, for the wise man realizes that it is unwise to wait for lower wages or lower mate'rials. There are enough broad-minded men of go ahead proclivities to take up the en tire slack in construction work, and those who wait are likely to get bad ly left, while the active men who see the opportunity will get the benefit of the situation. It could not have been expected by thoughtful men that immediately upon the signing of the armistice people could rush into building work. It would naturally take m.onths of care ful study of architects' and engineers' plans before actual construction work I could be got under way. In the mat ter of municipal and highway imi provements, it was necessary to ar range for popular votes in order to issue securities and then these had to be sold and bids had to be advertised for contract work. That in so short a time so vast an amount of work is being go.t under way is the highest proof that could be given that we are entering upon a period of great building expansion. This means not only the building of dwellings and municipal structures, but the building of churches (and no church has a right to hesitate in the hope that it will secure lower wages or lower materials), and the building of highways and kindred work. These things will soon start _he wheels of industry revoiving at full speed. The iron and steel trade, it is true, has been halted, largely by the action of the Railroad Administration, ht even unwise action such as that can not much longer hold b .ek an in evitable improvement.
