The boll weevil, says the wise Greenwood Index-Journal, does not eat corn, peanuts or velvet beans. Hfc does eat cotton. Pigs thrive on corn, peanuts and velvet beans. The jam at the picture show Saturday night gave conclusive evidence? which has been demonstrated time and time again on past occasions? that the house is not near large enough to accommodate the crowds. Henry B. Wells is the one man in Newberry to build a show house of his own on the ground floor. On Main street in Varnville there ? is said to be a sign reading, "Let us measure you for your coffin." We are glad that no undertaker in Newberry has ever resorted to such a method of advertising. BOUGHT THAT FARM YET? Come to Fairfield county.
