Mr. lawkins was born sev st en miles below Prosperity in 1S63. and duringi the whole of his life he has been pminently conneeted witi the le uliness affairs of Prosperity and i.Newherry county. He lived at the iepalvntal home uintil %89, when he th movel to P1rosperity and went into inthe mercantile business. He was a member of the firm of LIutiher. Lang A ford & Co. for one year. He was e- afterwards a member of the firm of s, Luther & Hawkins. In 1.97 the firm S7. of Hawkins Brotlhers was established, R1. composed of Messrs. A. H1. and George EC. I hawkins.
