Preparations for the Confed,:rate reunion in Charleston and the gener al reunion in Nashville are going ac tively forward by the Confederate camps. Most of the delegates and sponsors to the Charleston reunion have already been named. Major Gen.Thos. V. Carwile. commanding the South Carl0na division.has issued the following adaress. which he will send out tomorrow': To all camps of United Confederate Veterans in South Carolina: We beg t,, call the attention of veterans to the dates of the approaching re unions. Our South Carolina Division will htld its annual reunion in Char : -sto1n. S. C.. on 'May 17. 'IS. and -9. 11904. The Sons of Confederate Vet erans have been invited to hold their annual convention at the same time and place. and to participate in the same welcome ceremonies; and have accepted. The general Confederate reunion will be held in Nashville Tenn.. June 14. 15. and 16. 1904. You are earnestly urged to send full del egations from all your camps to both these reunions. Each camp sending delegates to these reunions should elect and send a sponsor. It is our duty to insist upon the collection and payment by you of camp dues to both these bodies. The division dues of five cents per member should be forwarded forthwith to J. M. Jordan. adjutant general. Green ville. S. C. The Confederation dues of ten cents per member should be forwarded to Gen. Wm. E. Mickle, 1824 Common street. New Orleans. La. You are urged to make immediate payment of all d.ues in arrears. No camp will be allowed to vote unless they are paid. In case any camp is unable to pay an arrearage. it may pay -as much as possible. together with dues for the present year. and they will be allowed to retain their present number. Unless this is done, the number of the camp will be lost,: and upon reorganization, will have to take a lower number. This is im portant. as each camp should have a just pride in retaining its first number. You are cordially urged to use your inflfence and efforts toward the for mation of camps in towns and com munities where they may now -exist: Each reunion reminds how thin our ranks are growing at every gath ering.
