VVe hope she will falter, and not conclude this treaty with the Federal Government, before the slave holding States has time to think over this matter; and by so j doing she may fortify herself from the ,'iggres1 sions of neighboring abolitioi ists, who w ill almost encompass her borders. The slave holding Suites are fully competent to raise the ten millions, and we are very much : mistaken if the sLiye holders themselves would ' not be willing to pay so much on each slave ; to raise this money. We hope the Nashville Convention will not be behind in this matter, but make propositions to the people of Texas, through their Governor, to this effect It will not fake the Southern people long to decide what tiiey will do.
