More shots were fired, and it is said that from three to five Chinese were killed. Another report says they took refuge in a Joss house, and were taken out and deliberately decapitated. Doubtless BritjIi policy will not fail to make the host use, now as heretofore, of so good an opportunity to secure a stronger loot hold upon the Chinese territory, rights, &c. These indiscretion* of the Chinese are fortunate accidents for John Bull, and will but enable him the sooner to accomplish his aggressive and selfish defcigncs in that quarter.
