A Bobathxno Oavb.?In the range of mountains in Western North Carolina, known as the Fox Bange, a moat simi? lar phenomenon exists. 'It is a "breath? ing cave." In the Barum er months a oorrent of air eomea from it bo strongly that a person oan't walk against it, while in the wint. r the auction is just as great. The eool air from the mountain in the ^ Btfmmef is felt for miles, in a direot line from thel?fonth^pf v tbe oave. At times the most unpleasant-odor is emitted npon the onrrent from dead carcasses of animals sacked in and killed by the yiolenoe. The Iobs of oattle and tdoak in that section in winter is accounted for in this way: They range too near the month of the cave, and the oorrent car? ries them in. At times, when the change from inhalation to exhalation beginn, the air is filled with various hairs of annimalo; not nnfreqoently bones and whole OBroasses aro found miles from the place. The air has been known to change materially in temperature, dar? ing exhalation, from quite eool to an* pleasantly hot, withering vegetation within reach, and accompanied by a terrible roaring, gargling sound, as a pot boiling. It is unaccounted for by Boientiflo men who have examined it, thongh no exploration can take plaoe. It .is feared by many that a volcanic eruption may break forth there some time. Snob * things have oceaned in places as little unexpected. Thb Cotton Pool.?The papers of Aoguata, Ou., pnblish tbe following oiroalar, signed by O. B. Bacon, O. F. Wilmaos, O. H. Pbinizy, B. W. Mns. Sumner.?Just before Senator Somner's death, his divorced wife pe? titioned the Massachusetts Supreme Court for permission to marry again. Wbo tbe bappy man is we do not know, bot sincerely trust that he will be more fortunate (than Nos. 1 and 2. In Persia brigandage appears to be increasing. Tbe English mail proceed? ing to Ispahan, and the Russian mail Between Teheran and Besht, have bulb been plundered by brigands. Slavery still exists in Bokhara, fifteen fugitive Persiaus having lately escaped from ' - d?LU-_ __ J ?_!--_-?- ? a Bussian fort. We are told that 300 years ago, ladies combed their hair just as tbey do to? day. This won't do m a civilized land and among observing people. 300 years ago, ladies used to comb their huir on their beads?now they hung it over the back of a chair to comb it.
