SHARP PRACTICE.- A Western gin di? stiller, who desires to impart an old fruit flavor to his juniper juice, recently ap? plied to the Commissioner of Internal Revenue for permission to pat coriander seeds, orange peal and turpentine in his distillery, with a view to that happy re? sult. The Commissioner said no. A brandy maker applied for permission to j make an imitation brandy in his still, from grape lees and prunes. Answer, no. Mr. Greeley writes to a confectioner in Boston that in making calves-foot jelly the Durham breed should always be se? lected. Take a live calf, place the hind feet ia a corn mill, and then commence to turn, and the jelly will flow out in its crude state. Collect this in a pan, and throw away the calf.
