K 7 . j_ FianBES THAT Do NOT LIB.-We have, from time to time, published a number of extraordinary prophecies concerning men and nations in Europe. The fol? lowing singular juxtaposition of figures would Rcem to indicate that there are "more things in heaven and earth than aro dreamed of in our philosophy:" ..Robespierre fell from power in 1794, and the Napoleon era may be dated from the same year; add to 1794 tho four com? ponent numbers 1, 7, 9, 4-21, and we come to 1815, the year Napoleon's power finally ended. Louis the XVI ascended the throne in 1774; add 1, 7, 7, 4,-to 1774, and they make 1793, the year that ill-fated monarch was exooat ed. "Tho great French Revolution began in 1789; add to this 1, 7, 8, 9, and arrive at the year 1814, when the exile to Elba put an end to the French conquests in Europe. "The Bourbons were restored in 1815; add this date to 1, 8, 1, 5, and we have the date 1830, when the Bourbons were once more expelled, "Louis Fhillippe was born in 1773, and came to the throne in 1830; add 1830 to 1, 7, 7, 3, and wo como to 1848, the year of his expulsion. "His Queen, Amelia, was born in 1782; add 1830 to 1, 7, 8 2, and we arrive in the same way at the precise year, 1848. "Napoleon the Third was born iu 1808, and was crowned Emperor in 1853; add to 1853 1, 8, 0, 8, and you got 1870, the present year and his downfall. "Again, his Empress, Eugenie, was bora in 1826; add 1853 to 1, 8, 2, G, and there similarly arises the date 1870. "Again, add 1853 to 1, 8, 5, 3, and for the third time you arrive at 1870." Emanuel Swedenborg attached a mys tio importance to the science of numbers, and the extraordinary combinations Cited above would seem to warrant the belief that he had reason os well as reve? lation on his side. The New York Sun, edited by Mr. Dana, Assistant Secretary of War under tho lato Mr. Stanton, publishes tho fol? lowing paragraph : "If tho Republicans want to make any headway in the coming election in this State, they mast out oil connection with Grant's administration, and take strong ground against putting a man at the head of tho State Department who makes $60,000 by a singlo bribe."
