SF?BIOUS TEA.-The Food Journal, published in London, states that a sam? ple of tea sold in that city as fine green gun-powder tea, on examination proved to be nothing but common "caper" leaves, ingeniously faced and manipu? lated. The manufacturo of this spurious I tea, it is stated, is carried on in Eng? land? and probably in the United States. BOTHERED.-The New York Evening Post proposes that the female brokers in Wall street be called "cows" and "she bears." Oh.no! When a woman nn eexes herself, she becomes liable to all the appellations proper to man. Such a female will not bellow if yon call her "a bull." The Charlotte Observer says: Two car? loads of negroes went South Thursday morning. Among them was a large number of women and children, and each family group .had their favorite coon-dog along. Better stay among the old hunting grounds. Emma Carroll, a notorious courtesan, now lying at the point of death in Green street, New York, has willed $208,000, most of her fortune, it is said, to found? ing a home for fallen women. The insoluble Phoephato found in any commercial Fertilizer is of no more value to tho plant than the original Phosphate rock. The greater the proportion of this Soluble Phoephato which any Fertilizer contains, the less thc quantity required per acre, and consequently the cheapest Fertilizer is that containing the highest per ccntago of Solnblo Phosphate. Impressed with those truths, the Sulphuric Acid and Super-Phosphate Company have erected at Charleston, tho first extensive Acid Chambers South of Baltimore, and are able to offer to planters tho highest per centago of Soluble Phosphate of Limo known in any market. Their Fertilizers are offered under two forms: I.
