On the second and third articles resulting in acquit? tal, a motion adjourning the court, ? ins die. prevailed. In the Senate, Anthony, Willey and Yan Winkle denied newspaper ron or ts that Chase had endeavored to influence their votes; and Fessenden denied his identity with the proposed third party, and announced his de? termination to support the Republi? can nominees. Adjourned. The excitement-in the Court this morning waa intenso. On all the pre? liminary questions, Ross voted with the majority, and moved an amend? ment to the motion adjourning the Court to the 1st September. It was thought these votes indicated that Ross had gone over. The grave question turned on hie vote. Ross rose from his seat pale, but otherwise gave no indications of excitement. In the House, the Speaker an? nounced that the functions of the impeachment managers had ceased; when a resolution, continuing them as a Committee to contiuno corrup? tion investigations, prevailed. A pro? test that the Committee investiga? tion, in which a minority is unrepre? sented, was unparliamentary, was over-ruled by the Speaker; the House kt controlled or could entrust investiga? tion to whom it pleased. A motion to add two members who had votod against impeachment, was tabled, on Butler's motion-GO to 51. . ^Woolley is confined in tho room of tho Committee on Foreign Affairs.
