It commenced thus: "What a glorious night! How the moon floods the earth with her glory! How sweet the cool air of this lonely balcony after the warm, stilling atmosphere of tho ball-room! Thus I thought, as, wearied with the plea? sures of tho ball, I stole out from thc glittering scene. I heard ? voice be? side me, 'Geraldine,' and my hand was passionately kissed. I drew it back.
