THE NEGKO AND THE NORTHERS STATE GOVERNMENTS.-Ohio refused to strike the word "white" out of its Constitution, so as to give colored people equal rights. Kansas refused to let colored people vote,.unless they could read and write. New York showed an unwillingness to let co? lored people vote for members of a convention to frame a nor Constitu? tion. And the telegram informs us that New Jersey (where the radicals aro in a majority) has just rejected the re? port of a committee in favor of amending the Constitution so as to allow the colored people to vote. In the States, the colored people number about ona in a hundred of the population. Colored people, these are your pre? tended' friends. j Charlottesville Chronicle. FJTAH ANO NEVADA.-lt. is stated that there is a strong probability that Utah will ho. annexed by Congress to thc State of Nevada at no distant day. Thc Nevada Legislature has memo? rialized Congress to that effect with great unanimity. This difficulty has been suggested, however: "Suppose the Mormons should practically re? verse this annexation scheme and swallow Nevada'? It might turn out that upon counting the ballots, at no distant day, these people, in spite of all disabling acts, were the rulers of Nevada."
