THE CROPS.-The weather has continued to hjld a favorable character for cotton picking, and was probably seldom surpassed in dry and moderate temperature. The fall throughout lias presented unusual chances for securing the crop. Its re? sults are visible in the heavy arrivals at the ports .'or the weet up to Friday last, say 140,674 bales. THE RECEIPTS.-The receipts at the cotton ports for the week np to Friday last wero or consider? able magnitude, amounting to 140,674 bales, against 118,609 the Wk before and 103,054 for the contrasting period last season. At New Orleans the arrivals were 41,668 bales, in contrast with 32,701 the week for the year before. The total supplies at the cotton ports from September let, 18*70, up'to the latest mall dates, were 1.053,693 bales, against 895,150 vales the season previous, showing an increase u. i58,443 bales. .
