This case was carried to the Supremo Court, where lt ls now pending. Thc point of the Joko la, that Wormley, the colored man who made tho demand for admission to the National Theatre, ls the son of Wormley, the fa? mous colored caterer, who will not allow a colored person to bo served In his restaurant at any price. Now lt acorns to tho Washingtonians, as it seems to us, that thc colored people should themselves desist from discriminating against their own color in barber shopa and restaurants, before thoy attempt to prevent the whites from managing their own business in their own way. The truth of the matter la, that the proprietor or ahonsoof business, white or colored, Is the only proper person to decide who he will and who he Will not serve, and this ls, we believe, tho opinion of all the colored people who take the trouble to think about this huge question of "social equali? ty," so-called.
