THE COTTON MABKET.-There has been 'a steady inquiry for the staple from Northern manufacturers throughout the week, and with much reduced stocks in the Southern porta factors have been ena? bled to harden their rafts, and prices have had sn advancing teni onay; but this improvement has been shown mostly in the American market, the art;ole exhibiting less strength at Liverpool. We note sales of about 190 bags ol tea islands and Floridas for the week, say 6 sea island at 90; of Floridas, 1 at 60; 1 at 66; 10 at 66; 61 at 60. We quote common Floridas at 50@60c, medium at co? 70c ft lb. Bea islands may be quoted at C5@75c for medium and 80c?M V lb for fine. BICK.-The demand for this grain bas been steady, and pilots for much, of the week showed no impor? tant variation, but yesterday dosed firmer, balee about 600 tierces of olean Carol ina, say 40 tierces at 1%; ICO at 7J?; 5 at 7%; 180 at Qc; 70 at Btfc ft lb. We qaoto common to fair clean Carolina at 7??<v7X; good8at8Xo V lb. NAVAL 6TOBES.-There have been received during the past week 969 bbls rosin, 460 bbls. spirits tur? pentine and 496 bbls of crude turpentine. The rosin was sold at 94 2604 60 fi bbl for pale. 93? 3 80 fl bbl for No 1, 92 17 fl bbl for low Ko 1, tl 86@l 90 f* bbl tor No 2 as to quality, and $180 V hbl tor No 3. Spirits turpentine was sold early in the week at 39c, but closed dull at 38c fi fi allon, leaving some stock on hand still unsold. Crude virgin turpentine was disposed of at t8 ft bbl; yellow dip at $2 60, and hard at #1 60 fi bbl. HAT -There have been received about 700 balee of North River qualities. We note sales of this description from the wharf, at tl 12 fl hundred. COHN.-The receipts of tbis grain have been I'm ited, say about 10,000 bushels from Baltimore. The demand for plantation purposes continued good, and with moderate supplies and firmer markets else? where tbis article hashed an upward tendency, and jobbing lots were selling atti 27@1 80 fl bushel, weight, baga included, for white Maryland, and tl 23 $1 bushel for yellow. F LO un-The market is well supplied with most qualities of Northern and Western brandi, and with free arrivals and good crop prospecte, prices have been in buyers' favor.
