DON PABQUALB.-Tho opera last night drow ono of tho most crowded and fafhlouable audiences that wo havo cvor peen gathered in Iliboroian O all. Don Pasquale was presented in ex<-cllent stylo and M'llo Durand, BB Norina, received n greeting oren wanner than that Riven bor at the roncert on Satur? day, It way be that tho res; that thc company bl cl enjoyed alter tho continuous travel and sever? efforts of last weoU had put them lu bettor volco than at their lut appearance; certainly the artists all sang with rcmarkublc ppirit and lino effect. M'llo Durand is scarcely lees charming as an actress than Bbo in pleasing as a eingor, and, last light, the most fastidious critic could have found nothing lacking either in her acting or tho management of her voice. Even tho blurring of the trill, which wc had noticed on Saturday, had disappeared as though by magic signor Briguoll song magnificently throughout tho tho opora, and in tho serenade was rapturously en? cored. Ibo great tenor, however, WBB somewhat taino In his acting. Signor Sorti, as 1 on Pasquale, confirmed tho good opinion which bad already boon formed of him. His conception and acting ot thc character? wero good, amt his fine voice was used with cbarmLag effect. Signor steffane ne, brother of the famous prima donna, Madame 8tcffanone, played tba accompani? ments with great precision and taeto. This gentle? man is of no little value in making the performance a success. As will be soon by the correspond once which wc print this mon.lng. the departure of thc opera com? pany has boen postponed until a late hour to night, eo aa to allow of tho j cr for mn nco ol the Barber ol Seville this evening, for the benefit of the Charleston prima donna, M'lle- Durand. HUH opera will be given with dresses and all possible scenic effects, and will bc over In all probability by 10 o'clock. M'lle Durand ls already a great favorito with our citizens. As a Charlestonian she has a cl im upon us, and as a singer she has a chaim which we shall not soon tercet. We hope then that at her benefit to-night every scat will be taken, and that the fair prima donna will long havo occasion to remember her first professional visit to Charleston. HALL.-Died ut St Julien's, in St. Jehu's Boike ley, on the 20th March, in the 28th year of bis age, the Rev. FRANCIS MARION HALL, Minister of the "Church of tho Epiphany." Only a few months have passed since tins young aoldior nf tho cross was ordained to tho Ministry of the Protestant Episcopal Church, but his brief ser? vir? in the Gospel has been marked with an earnest? ness and devotion which second tho esteem and love of his flock, and awakened m all who knew him the hops of piral usefu.ness. lhouehLul from a boy, with an affectionate heart and talents of a high order, his carly manhood was consecrated to the service of Christ; and when called by the Spirit of Ood to devote himself tu the Ministry, though in feeble health, fae entered wi tu untiring labor upon preparation tor the work. As ho approached the time for ordination bi8 pioty ripened, and the sense of responsibility increased. With a single desire to glorify Christ, at d a tender love for tho souls for whom Hs shed His blood, worldly aspirations were laid upon .Che altar ol the Cross, and to fulfill his course, and the Minis ry which he had received of the Lord Jesus, was the wi h ol' bis heart. In the pariah in which he served, he sought to pcrtorm witb efficiency the pastoral work, while he faithfully proclaimed the doctrines of grace; end fondly is his memory cherished by a bereaved flock. In the family he w >s cherished with the fondest love, and his removal has left a blank not to be filled. But lilith points those who mourn beyond the grave, and we see him entered into rest. 1 he Gospel which be preached.cheered his dying hours, and the baviour--?hom he loved-bas taken him to himself. "1 he morning shall awaken, The shadows shall decay. And each true-hearted servant, Shall shine as doth thee*ay.
