THE SOUTH CAROLINA INSTITUTE.-The Board of Directors of the South Carolina Institute meet this evening, at 7 o'clock, at No. 23 Broad-street, as we leam, to consider a proposal to build a hah, by a number ot bu-inosa moa and g ntlemcn, on tho lot where the old theatres stood, on Meeting-strcet, ari which ls owned by the Institute. Such a hall, ai it ls presumed will bo erected ?rom this movement, will not only be an ornament to that part of the city, but for operatic and other public exhloirions, has become a necessity to our community. It will, if undertaken, be managed by gentlemen of honor, position and experience.
