[FOB THE WEEK ENDINO THURSDAY, MARCH 26.] COTTON.-This article, during meet of the week just closed, was marked by a steady dullness and Inactivity, caused mainly by theunsatisfaotcry condition of the English cotton goods market and the indisposition of manufacturers to purchase more than waa necessary fer immediate demands at the prevailing figures. Notwithstanding the almost un qualified depression which existed, the staple has been so far strengthened by the heavy falling on" in receipts that Liverpool has been steady during much of the week at lid, stiffening to 12 %d; the New Yotk market has been at 28%@28%o, hardening to 28%@29c; and in this market the decline was only about ;?@%c HR lb, which has since boen recover? ed, and unless circumstances are developed of a more unsatisfactory character, it is herdiy to be sup? posed that any very important f ill in prices will take place during the present crop season, in the face of the very limited supplies of the raw material to be expected from this country. The following is a statement of the supplies ashore and afloit which is probably nearly correct : STATISTICAL POSITION- 1869. 1868.
