Gold n* Union Coxthty.-Major Logan, of White County, exhibited to tho editorof this paper, upon a recent visit to Cleveland, some 450 dwta. of gold from ono of his Union County mines. It was not in the form of "dust," but in solid pieces, from ono to six dwtB. in weight, and worth 102 cents per dwt. This is, we boUovo, tho purest gold yet found in the State. Major Logan oxpressod tho opinion that gold in abundant in Union and other Counties boyond the Blue Ridge. We think he is correct in this; for we romembor that in 1810 various minos wero worked in Cherokee, Macon and Haywood Counties, North Carolina, a part of the same bolt.
