All Advertisements must be landed to the Business Manager before Thursday NoOttv,,*,*rn ?* xv ? ?? AVc want money. ? Not an uncommon traut at all. Wo have been indulging our friends as long as we arc able. Those from whom wer purchase our materials to priut this journal/demand cash for every order filled. Oar printers have to be paid every Saturday night. This all takes money'. Now surely those of our Bubscribers, whom we have endeavored tc accommodate by furnishing them with the News without demanding pay in ad Yance, will come up and pay tho little that is duo us: It is impossible to run a newspaper without money, and those wbo do bot,pay up, wo shull be compell ed to erase from our books. So come up and save us from anymore asking. Personal.?William G. Tyson, of the Charleston Dally News, was on a visit to v Qrangeburg duriug tho1 last week. Jos. A. Greene. We hope that tho election will pass quietly. We do uot of courso apprehend any difficulty in onr peaceful and law-abiding County, but we express the hope that no unpleasant feelings, no political jars may bs called into play, ?vjiu u . Mtuvol ?i-.*t, ifv I. , . matter with the people, who should and doubtless will, poicefully and without auy excitement, select u man worthy of their choice, and fitted for the place _-! a > i - Terrible Cotd).?During the last woek we have weathered one of the coldest snaps, ever felt in this country. Why, on last Friday, the view looking dowu Main Stroet to the river was uovel and brilliantly strange. The woods, covered with their drapery of icicles, presented tho appearance of a vast white winding sheet, which, seemed to rest over the whole forest. Not only with us, but over tdio North and Nurthwest the spell was bitter and intense. Blankets of tho warmest and best material are absolute ly necessary and wo warn evory one to provid? himself at once. Furs, shawls, overcoats and such ttrttalea must be pro cured. All of these of the best kind ure to be had at kGco. II. Cornelsou's. Head his advertisement and then perish with the cold if you disregard it. Judge Graham.?Public services vfoll perforated descrvo publio pruise. Robert F. Graham, a young man com pared with tnoso who have eat in his seat upou the bench of South Carolina, was elected at the last soosioa of tho Legislature to fill the unoxpired term of Judge Carpenter, whose metorio career is part of political history. With ability equal to that which has so dis tinguished our judiciary in the past ; and whioh has been recognized and bowed to by that galaxy of able critics? the Charleston bar, Judge Gruhnm bus filled his position, with credit to himself j and universal satisfaction to all. At the close of his term he must feel that rich est recompense which a performance of duties evor brings and which repays a deeper a: d truor satisfaction thau tho publio appreciation and plaudit. Iu these times when so much com plaint is made agaiust thoso filliug offices of publio trust, iustauccs aro rare, where a general and felt .satisfaction rewards the officer. Such is Judge Graham's position now before tho people of his State, and a p.'oud position is it to occupy. Amid the expressions of ap preciation of tho people and with the cou scious rcwar I of his own heart, his first term closes. That ho will be re-elected is almost a cortaiuty. It b duo to him self and it is duo to this people that he should bo re-elected. Thcro is likely to be no opposition to Judge Graham's re-election and there should bo none. The Legislature by his re-election will do their duty to the man who has been tried and found so well fitted for the position, and they will gratify tho peo ple of the Stato we know, and the people of Oraugoburg for whom we can speak. - Christmas, Santa Claus.?
