On Friday, the 2d inst., our market opened quiet at about closing rates of last week, say 24c. for Middlings, but on tho receipt of favorublo news from LlVerpool, tho demand improved with an ad vance in prices of i@ Jo. The market on Saturday was firm, with an advancing tendency in prices, but to* transactions wero limited owing to tho ex treme ratos demanded by sellers. On Monday our market was quite active, with largo sales, on a basis of 25?, for Middlings. In conscqucnco of unfavo rable accounts from Liverpool, our market on Tuesday became quiet, and prices cosier than tho day before. On Wednesday otir market was dull and depressed with a downwurd tendency in prices, rtlic mrket cloning at }@lc. decline. On Thursday, runder still further unfavorable advices from Liver pool and New York, our market continued very ?dull and depressed, and the sales made wero lower, tatid very irregular prices.
