Tint Sitton Siiiklds Tiiaokhy.?It Is generally believed in Charlotte aud Mecklenburg County that tho killing of J. Q, Hilton by Shields was a 0 foul aad brutal murder. The evidence will * probably develop the fact that the accusation of his sister's seduction was only a cover, and that bis real purpose was to annihilate Sitton's testimony in a case pending against him for house % burning. The leelings u.'.the community have assumed a dangerous and restless shape, and fears are entertained that the slayer may yet be lynched.
